Herbert Mason 71 of Thorton, MS passed away on February 8, 2022, at UMMC in Jackson, MS. Herbert was born to the late Willie Mason and Jessie Mae Taylor Mason in Thorton, MS. Holmes County. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ka'lita LaTricee Hoover; 3 sisters: Lula Mae Mason, Earnestine Jefferson, Ora Mae Mason; and a brother, Arthur Lee Mason. Herbert leaves to cherish his memories 2 daughters: Zamara Hoover of Lexington, MS and Chandra McAfee of Jackson, MS; 1 son, Frederick Blue of Tchula, MS; 2 sisters: Ruth Mason and Izola Johnson both of Flora, MS; 1 brother, Percy Mason of Thorton, MS; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and a special friend, Laura Hoover, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitation for Herbert will be Thursday from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm at Hairston & Hairston Funeral Home in Lexington, MS. Funeral Service will be at 11 am Friday, February 25, 2022, at Big Mount M.B. Church in Thorton, MS. Burial in Cage Board Cemetery in Thorton, MS.
