    Mrs. Hattie B. Sturdivant-Blair

    January 11, 1934 - February 1, 2022

    Mrs. Hattie B. Sturdivant-Blair was born January 11, 1934, in Lowndes County, Mississippi to Jimmy and Lucy Pearl Johnson-Sturdivant. She was the 4th of 11 children. She confessed Christ at the age of 12 and joined Pepper Hill Church under the leadership of Pastor Howard Sharp. Later, she became a faithful member of Charity M. B. Church of Columbus where she served as church secretary, Sunday School teacher, President of Usher Board, and worked with the youth. She later joined The Word Church International under the leadership of Apostle John Sanders where she remained until her health failed. She attended ICS where she received her certificate in doctrines of the Bible. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 6 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, 1 grandson, and 1 great-granddaughter. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Nan (Robert) Bell of Harvest, AL, Evelyn (Marty) Walker of Tupelo, MS, Minister Pearlie (Joe) Dent, Ruby (Walker) Brooks, Carolyn (Lonnie) Tuggle, Arthur (Chasity) Blair, Jr., Cleotha (Willie) McDavis all of Columbus, MS; 3 sisters: Ruby Hodo, Clara Fortner and Lucy Simon; 2 sisters-in-law: Lowella Sturdivant and Mary Dulany; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be streamed live on the Hairston and Hairston Facebook page.
