Elbert Garciea Vaughn, 57, died Aug. 15, 2020. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020, in Greater Ebenezer Cemetery, with the Rev. Joseph L. Stone officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday, at Century Hairston Funeral Home. Century Hairston Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Vaughn was born Sept. 29, 1963, in Starkville, to Winnie Ruth Morris and the late Elbert Vaughn. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Erik Stevenson of Memphis, Tennessee, Lindsey Larry of Atlanta, Georgia and Elbert Garciea Vaughn II of Roxie; siblings, Shelia Morgan, Nathaniel “Bobby” Morris both of Starkville, James Kennard Purnell of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Barron Morris of Collierville, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
