Andre’ Rice was born in Jackson, MS September 26, 2000. On January 6, 2012 Andre’ came into the home of Ms. Evette Rice as a foster child. During this time, Andre’ became a very important part of the Rice and Stevenson family. Andre’ confessed hope in Christ at the age of 12 and was baptized at Blackjack M.B. Church under the late Dr. R.T. Branson. Andre’ actively participated in BTU, Vacation Bible School, and the Youth Usher Ministry. Andre’ also actively participated in Sunday School and other church services each Sunday. Andre’ always looked forward to participating in the Gethsemane St. Moriah District Congress Classes, the Youth activities/ushering with Northeast Mississippi Baptist State Convention and Congress. Andre’ also participated with the National Congress Youth in Tampa, FL 2016. After Andre’s acquaintance with Pastor Dennis Johnson; Andre’ joined Mt. Airy M.B. Church (Sturgis, MS). In June of 2017 Ms. Rice adopted Andre’ as her son. During Andre’s years in the Rice home, there was absolutely no limit to the love shown to Andre’ as a child and older adolescent. Andre’ was afforded any and every opportunity available to him whether spiritual, social, educational or economical. The family loved Andre’ as their own. Andre’ was better known for his contagious smile and mannerism. Andre’ attended Starkville Oktibbeha County School District where he played Jr. Varsity and Varsity Football. Andre’ also attended East MS Community College, Mayhew, MS (Auto Engineering). Andre’ Leaves to mourn his passing, his Mother: Evette Rice and a Sister: whom he adored, Jaliyah Riley. Suring Andre’ Time with his adopted family, Andre’ chose: due to the love shown him, the late Mrs. Rena Mae Stevenson, Mrs. Jessie Lee Ellis, and Mrs. Annie Mildred Bell, as his grandmother. Andre’ was also blessed to have 5 Aunts: Elois Montenayor (Rudolphus), Brenda Osazuwa, Diane (Robert) Wright, Dalphane, Al. Cynthia (Sylvester) King, & Gwendolyn (Vinston) Boyd of Irving, TX and 2 Uncles: Walter (Barbara) Rice of Joliet, IL. And Nathaniel Rice of Starkville, MS. He also has 2 great Uncles: Peter Harris and James Harris of Joliet, IL. Andre’ built a strong relationship with Rev. Dr. Joe Stevenson, who made meaningful effort in mentoring Andre’ through whatever he may have gone through. Andre’ has 3 biological sister: Ruby, Pearl, and Azanae Wansley. He has 1 Brother: Tyson Wansley. Andre has a biological Grandmother: Deborah Sulton, of Jackson, MS. And a host of Aunts, Uncles, and other Relatives and Friends.
