Thomas Allen Larry

A sharp, witty, kind-hearted and well-read man, Thomas Allen Larry was born March 24, 1950, in Starkville, MS to the late Joe and Fannie Grayer Larry. He accepted Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church, Starkville, MS. He departed from his earthly home on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Southern TN Regional Health System. Thomas graduated Valedictorian of his Senior Class in 1968 from Henderson High School, Starkville, MS. In fall of 1968, he enrolled in Rust College, Holly Springs, MS and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Math in 1972. After graduating from Rust, he earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering and began his career as a Mechanical Engineer at Arnold Air Force Base where he remained for forty-one years. A faithful and loyal member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Thomas, served in various capacities, a member of the choir, male chorus, Sunday School, Bible Class participant and a Deacon. During his lifetime, Thomas's service to God, his family and community had a profound impact upon everyone with whom he came in contact. His willingness to assist others was immeasurable; and because he was blessed with such an infectious, loving spirit, he acquired many additional sisters, brothers, nieces, godchildren and nephews, who truly loved him. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Fannie Larry, a sister: Maudean Mason; sister-in-law, Betty Larry and his loving wife, Archeen Rush Larry. He is survived by a loving brother, Joe Larry; a niece, Tanya Larry; nephew, Kelvin Larry; great niece, Kendria Larry; uncle, Lewis Larry; two aunts, Martha Prater, Eula V. Hart; four cousins, Vivia Harris, Ronald Campbell Lisa Ingram, and Tracy Grayer; seven sisters-in-law: Sarah (King), Wilma, Shirley, Armastine, Ethert Marie, Betty and Margrett; three brothers-in-law: Steave (Ann) Rush, Olen (Brenda) Rush and Benjamin (Reloyce) Rush. Thomas also leaves Special relatives and friends who will remember him forever: Sheronda Gipson-Marion, Katina Gipson-DeBerry, LaShunda Hill, Sandra Brown, Wheeler and Mary Walker, Julia Jenkins, Pastor John Patton and many other relatives and friends. Memorial Service Friday, October 6, 2023, at J. A. Welton & Son Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm in Starkville, MS handled by Hairston & Hairston Funeral Home. Funeral Service 11am at Springhill M.B. Church, Starkville, MS.
