Mrs. Sarah Ann Bishop

Sarah Ann Bishop, "Say-ran" "Mookie" was born Sarah Ann Randle in West Point, MS to the union of Catherine Gardner and Jessie D. Randle on November 21, 1964. An avid Green Wave football fan, Sarah moved to Starkville, MS after marrying Rory Bishop - Starkville Yellow Jackets' biggest fan. The house was divided when the games began. Sarah Ann accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Fountainhead Baptist Church in West Point, MS. Sarah Ann quickly realize how much of a jokester she was, and through all of the jokes and tricks she managed to get her high school diploma from M&I College in West Point in 1983. After graduation she joined the workforce in different retail outlets until she became a CNA and worked at Starkville Manor and The Carrington nursing homes. This was her last position she held before becoming a stay at home mom to her adopted son- her boy, Kendrikus Bishop. Sarah Ann had a BIG personality that commanded attention, would light up a room and make anybody laugh until they cried. She was one of the most caring individuals you could ever know and showed it in different ways by sacrificing her time and energy to help support others. On any given day, you could find Sarah Ann, and her road dog, Tara, all over Starkville going from store to store and church to church, buying and collecting food, clothing, toiletries and the like to distribute to others who were not able to do so themselves. It was not uncommon for anyone, even strangers, to walk into their home and get a hot meal or a quick snack. She was known for this care and love throughout the golden triangle area.She was a strong believer and became the church by being the hands and feet of Jesus. Sarah Ann Bishop transitioned over to eternal life on January 25, 2025, at the age of 60 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Sarah was a giver, even unto death, as she was an organ donor. Gifting life to someone else. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Catherine Gardner; her father, Jessie Randle Sr.; her brothers: Donell Gardner, Bobby Randle, Ervin Gardner, William Gardner and John Randle; her sisters: Essie Bell Randle and Josie Mcfan: and a Brother-in-law, Sgt. Kendrick Bishop, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: her Husband of 30 years Rory Bishop; her son, Kendrikus Bishop of Starkville, MS; stepdaughter, Adrian Bishop of Boston, MA; Brothers: Perry Gardner (Lynda) of Flint Michigan, Edward Saul (Darlene) of Chicago, Il, Henry Randle (Carlton) of St Louis MO, Jessie Gardner (Ella), Frank Randle (Wanda), Daniel Randle, Charles Randle; and Sisters: Mary Johnson (Stanley), Linda Faye Randle all of West Point, MS, Hattie Randle, Minnie Randle of St. Louis, MO; Mother-in-law, Mary Ann Bishop; brother-in-laws: Kelvin Bishop, Marcus Bishop (Suprenda) all of Starkville, MS, Eddie James Skinner of CO; sister-in-laws: Tara Bishop, Latricia Bishop (Charlie), Elizabeth Frazier-Bishop all of Starkville, MS, Kena Keys (Thomas) of Olive Branch, MS and Trish Skinner of OH; 5 grandchildren in Boston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors who greatly miss her presence.
