Rev. Jimmie King Williams

Rev. Jimmie King Williams Rev. Jimmie King Williams was born on April 12, 1942, in Noxubee County, Mississippi, to the late Alice Payton Douglas and the late Dee Douglas. He was one of eighteen children born to this union. Rev. Williams was a man of faith, family, love, and service. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts and lives of many through his kindness, wisdom, faith, and the relationships he built with those around him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johnnie Mae Williams; his son, Eddie Bankhead, affectionately known as “Meg”; his grandson, Antonio Buckhalter; and his beloved godmother, Daisy Williams. Rev. Williams leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: Brenda Buckhalter of Columbus, Mississippi; Shell Richardson (Frank) of Dallas, Texas; Regina (Jacques) of Madison, Mississippi; Jackie Norris (Anthony) of Madison, Mississippi; Lashonda Hopkins (Reico) of Columbus, Mississippi; Jimmy Williams of Columbus, Mississippi; Pastor Leon Williams (Andrea) of Columbus, Mississippi; Andra Williams (Francina) of Columbus, Mississippi; Rosie Mae Jones of Columbus, Mississippi; Mechelle Sturdivant of Columbus, Mississippi; Willie Cockrell of Starkville, Mississippi; Linda Goodman (James) of Columbus, Mississippi; and Marcell Fields of St. Louis, Missouri. He also leaves to cherish his memory his surviving siblings: Mae Bell “Moon” Douglas and James Douglas, both of Columbus, Mississippi; along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and countless others whose lives were blessed by his presence. Rev. Williams’ life was a testament to faith, perseverance, family, and love. His journey was filled with experiences, relationships, and memories that will remain a part of his family’s story for generations to come. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the legacy he leaves behind will continue through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Today, we give thanks to God for the gift of his life—for the years he was given, the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the memories he leaves behind. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
